"Save One Life..."

The organ donation in this Country is low, at this moment in USA are more than 80000 patients waiting for an organ donor in the waiting list. Over 10 percent in this list are children under 18 years old, and at the end of this day 17 people will die while waiting in the waiting list.

We can all save a life and give the most amazing gift possible by donating our organs after death. Although it exist a hesitation amongst people about donating organs, it is very simple process. All you have to do is to go to your doctor and fill out a form where you declare that you will donate your organs after your death. Donor organs are removed surgically and the body is closed, as in any surgery. There are no outward signs of organ donation and open casket funerals are still available.
So don’t wait anymore, go and sign for organ donation and give the gift of life.

  1. You said it right Drini; it is a very simple process and its a long time help for someone in need. In my opinion, many people think that if the were to opt in for organ donation, when they have an accident the doctors may come across their file and see their option to donate their organs and that due to their critical injuries they won't get the help to survived. People don't realize that doctors would do what it takes to save a person's life, and if I was to get into an accident and be critically injured the doctor is going to save me before he goes to my file and see if I opt in for organ donor. If people were well informed of how the process of organ donations work then we'll notice an increase of organ donors. Many of us are wrong informed about organ donations, lets get informed people!

  2. Hi Drini,

The statistics are alarming. I am a organ donor. One of the reasons people do not want to donate their organs is the process. All it took years ago to be a organ donor was to sign the back of your drivers license. Now you have to go on the computer fill and out a form, people are all about convenience. I know it is sad to say but true. If the process was less complex and more convenient people would be donors. Especially older people that don't want anything to do with a computer or anything complicated. I agree, Let's not only get imformed but lets make the process less complex thereby increasing the donors!
